Hebrews 13:1-4 | What's a lesson for the original audience?

The love of the believer is essential in communicating the love of God. After all, at the moment of belief, of confession and repentance, when an individual has been born again, they become a vessel by which the Holy Spirit can move and operate. What fruit might we see proceeding from one who is endowed with the Holy Spirit? Indeed, we would see love.

Love must be sincere.
-Romans 12:9a

The lesson that is being brought to the original audience is no different than the above verse. It simply expounds upon it. Brotherly love is to continue. Loving one's neighbor must extend even to the strangers among them. Those who are persecuted are not to be removed from them but are instead to be a focal point of showing care. And lastly, the marriage bed is to remain undefiled. All of these are products of sincere love. So then, to the believer, love must be genuine.

What lesson are you seeing for the original audience?
