Building Project

Mountain View Church has a problem. We are growing... fast. As a result, we are undergoing a building project to help expand our space and make fellowship more accessible. A need has been seen and now it is being addressed. We have put together a Building Committee that has a simple purpose: Identify the needs of our Church body (immediate and future), prioritize those needs, and develop a plan. Below are the projects we are currently undertaking. If you have gifts or talents that could assist in these projects, please contact us at buildingmvfc@gmail.com or fill out the contact form below.
Our Options
The Building Committee decided upon three options for Mountain View Church:
  1. Build a new building
  2. Purchase a building
  3. Expand our current building
Among the options we have in front of us, they have each proven to have their own complications. While we are currently working on improving our current space, we are also prayerfully entertaining the idea of purchasing a property and building a new building that will better suit our needs. The rate of growth we are currently experiencing would lead us to outgrow what we had planned for a building expansion relatively quickly.
Fundraising
As you can imagine, it takes money to make things happen. We trust the Lord to bring the funds that are needed for our daily operations as well as to bring this to fruition. The Building Committee is actively working out ideas for fundraising efforts. In addition to that, Mountain View Church will be dedicating the tithes of the final Sunday of each month to the Building Fund.

Plans are also in the works for a Silent Auction in March and a Kick-Off event in April. Be on the lookout for those.

If the Lord lays it on your heart to donate directly to our Building Fund, you can do that below.
Parking
One of our largest issues through our growth has been parking. The dirt lot to the North of our property has been utilized to increase our parking volume. Markers have been placed to designate parking spots, effectively doubling our spaces.

Additionally, we have completed the walkway from the top to the bottom, making the task of parking in our upper lot just that much safer. Current plans are underway to add a railing to this as well.
Stage & A/V
The stage is looking to undergo a redesign! The current plan is to knock out the walls on the stage, taking out the two rooms on the wings as well as the baptismal at the back, and pushing the whole stage back. This will open up room for about 2 more rows of chairs (~36 seats). As a temporary fix, this will allow more space in the sanctuary until we are able to make larger moves toward expanding the sanctuary.

In addition to the stage, we are also looking to make early upgrades to our Audio/Visual department. This is something that impacts the way we do ministry NOW. A better system does not just mean we have more stuff going on. It means we have better control of what is going on. This will impact our in-house and online worship.
Temperature Control
While it gets nice and toasty in the winter months, it also gets extra toasty in the summer months. We are looking into costs of extra fans or adding A/C to our building.
Men's Bathroom
The ladies got a much needed upgrade to their bathroom recently. It is in our sights to also upgrade the men's bathroom. We will take a closer look at this when things get a bit warmer outside as we would need to utilize port-o-potties.
Expansion
We are working on preliminary designs for future expansion of our space. Part of this will also entertain what is needed to get the building up to code so that we can overcome that hurdle.
New Property
We are engaging in conversations with a commercial real-estate agent to explore the option of purchasing a new property.

Donations

We ask that you would prayerfully consider donating to our Building Fund.
