John 10:22-42 | What am I going to do about it?

I had a dear friend of mine who was so good about recognizing the works of the Lord in her life. She had such wonderful eyes to see the Lord moving in things I never would have thought to look. She called the the winks of God. These were the little things that would line up where she saw the Lord just showing off. It would be things like she read a first that really impacted her that day and then someone would mention the same verse in conversation. She would get so excited just to see those little winks.

My point of recognizing that is that she was so good at seeing the works of God and believed in who He is through those and through the works testified in the Word. Initially, being the mighty theology student and Christian skeptic I was at the time, did not actually take any of those things seriously. Now, however, I am much more keen to believe that the Lord actually does operate in those ways.

The application I am taking is putting into practice a taking of accounts. I want to take into account those small ways and those big ways that the Lord is moving throughout the day. When He speaks I want to take it so seriously, even if it was a small thing. I don't want to get caught up in the skepticism of our western culture and miss the Lord's works because I think I can explain them all away. I want to recognize and believe in His work, both of what is testified of in Scripture, and what is done today.

What application are you putting into practice?
