John 10:1-10 | What am I going to do about it?

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.
-2 Peter 1:5-9

There is a responsibility I must uphold in following after Jesus. It is a genuine reality that there are many enemies against us who claim Christ. I need to be on watch against that and be all the more diligent in adding to my faith. If I follow the sincere work of Christ, I will see fruit. It is promised to those who abide in Christ that they will be fruitful. So I must abide. A few other verses that come to mind on this subject are as follows.

15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
-Ephesians 5:15-16

7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
-1 Peter 4:7

As I said before, there are many enemies around us. I want to call all things into question and lay them at the foot of the cross. My prayer is that they would all be of Christ. To conclude, I will also add this verse from Luke.

26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
-Luke 14:26-27

May we all lay our lives down before Him in sincerity.
