John 4:43-54 | What am I going to do about it?

I left off yesterday's devotion stating that we need to know the promises of God that we may believe those promises. Recently, I have started a new bible study method called "Color Study". In short, what I am doing is going through Scripture with a set of colored pencils and am color coating my Bible. One of those is becoming my favorite. Purple. Purple is, for my study, the promises of God. What I am going to do continue that study but stop any time I am using that purple pencil. I will ask myself a series of questions to follow it.

  • What is this promise saying?
  • What does this mean?
  • How does it apply?
  • Do I really believe it?

Now it is really important that I address those first two questions before the second two. I have seen a lot of people "believe" in promises that have no bearing on them, but then also neglect promises that are evidently for them. So I am wanting to be careful and cautious about how I approach this. I am in a place in my life where I am really challenging my thoughts and beliefs. Do I really have faith? I long too. And I want my life to reflect that in every way.

What application are you putting into action?
