John 4:1-42 | What am I going to do about it?

We live in a world of wells. Where the world was when Jesus spoke this was in a time where water was often a scarcity. So the idea of having a well that would never run dry and you'd never thirst again was revolutionary. We practically have that access from multiple points in our own homes. Nevertheless, we know Jesus is not speaking physically but spiritually. In that department, I think we have plentifully more wells to our access.

We have whatever we want to eat.
We have whatever we want to drink.
We have whatever we want to watch.
We have whatever we want to listen to.
We have whatever we want to play.
And most of this we have right at our finger tips.

There are so many things available to us that offer itself as a better well than the last. With so many around us, it can be hard to discern where we should drink. So what I will do is a continuation of what I have been doing. Everything gets brought into consideration and gets brought to the cross. I really try to live a disciplined lifestyle. More than physical discipline, I seek to be spiritually disciplined. I seek to drink from the well that comes from Christ and respond to the Lord in that. I look to be fed by Him. When I am tired, worn down, beat up or otherwise, I will run to the fount that is in Christ. There is no sufficient rest nor comfort outside of Him. There are only wells that will leave you thirsty. But in Him, I am satisified.

What application are you putting into action?
