John 2:13-25 | What am I going to do about it?

One of the foremost applications I can implement today is to turn inward. In prayer, I am asking the Lord to highlight in my own life anything that has entered in that needs to be removed. This can be a scary one sometimes. I have prayed this a lot in the past and I have had a lot removed from me. But it has tilled the soil of my life where seeds could be sown and it has produced so much fruit. As I look back at anything I have surrendered to the Lord, I have absolutely no regrets.

The Lord is zealous about my sanctification. He does not want anything impeding my growth or my relationship with Him. I want to share in that same zealousness. So here is my rule - nothing is off the table. If He calls it out and says it needs to go, it goes. I cannot allow for things that hinder spiritual growth. Everything is called into question.

19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
-1 Cor. 6:19-20

3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
-Col. 3:3

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
-Gal. 2:20

My life is no longer my own. It is not for me to live how I want to live and have the Lord as an accessory. The statement that Jesus made was a bold one indeed. He highlighted the temple was first the Lord's. The temple was not Israel's. It did not belong to the Jews or the religious elite. It did not belong to Rome. It belonged to the Lord. So the same for all who are in Christ. We are not our own. We belong to Him.

What application are you going to implement for yourself?
