Proverbs 30:13

13There is a generation—oh, how lofty are their eyes!
And their eyelids are lifted up.
-Proverbs 30:13

This is much of where I want to be certain that we are careful as to how we view other generations. For there is a generation who is lofty and filled with haughtiness and pride. They believe they are the best generation. These are those who look upon every other generation and say, "Oh that this generation would be like mine and the world would be right!" It is the attitude that was shared among the pharisees. It was an attitude that Jesus had rightly condemned. They were filled with hypocrisy. And so the same for this generation. Remember that God resists that proud, but He gives grace to the humble. Let us be certain to humble ourselves before the Lord and not act out of pride. Just as all generations before us and all generations that proceed after us, we need the blood of Jesus. Once again, let us turn to prayer for these generations and be all the more fervent in preaching the gospel.
