Proverbs 30:11
11There is a generation that curses its father,
And does not bless its mother.
-Proverbs 30:11
The following verses all have a similar structure to the one above in that it will examine these various traits of a wicked generation. This is very relevant to today's culture. I would like to caution us as we read through these not to become slanderers concerning the upcoming generations but that we would turn to prayer and all the more preach truth.
There is a generation that acts in opposition to their parents. This is detrimental to society as a whole. What becomes of the cub that flees from its mother? What of the pup that leaves its pack? Consider the fawn that goes its own way. They are left to destruction. Unfortunately, we do exist in a world where many who were left to their own destruction are now raising their own in like manner. And so from one generation to another, we have fathers being cursed and mothers being cursed. Let us turn that tide and honor our father's and mother's while we cannot control all of those around us, we ourselves can be a difference in that regard. As fathers and mothers, make yourselves readily available to your children and love them dearly. Cherish them. Pray for them. Speak the truth in love to them. Discipline them. Lead them in the ways of righteousness and dwell in righteousness yourselves. Bless your mother. Bless your father.
And does not bless its mother.
