Proverbs 29:26
26 Many seek the ruler’s favor,
But justice for man comes from the LORD.
-Proverbs 29:26
This goes right along with yesterday's devotion concerning the fear of man. Who is it that you are living before? Men hope for a favorable outcome when they stand before a judge. As such they will try to say or do what is necessary to get the judge to favor their case. In short, they are living for the eyes of the judge. Yet true justice comes from the Lord. It would do us well as believers if we really considered how we were living before the eyes of Him Who sees all. Would we make the decisions we make? Would our thoughts linger on the thoughts we think? Would we say the things we have said? We see this reality on the roadways. When their is a cop nearby, everyone drives different. As soon as the cop is gone, they drive like there is no one watching. Oh how our rebellious natures define us so! I pray that we would actively live before the eyes of the Lord and seek to be obedient to Him.
