Proverbs 28:26

    26      He who trusts in his own heart is a fool,
    But whoever walks wisely will be delivered.
-Proverbs 28:26

We are currently teaching an entirely different message throughout our culture and the church has unfortunately bought it. The world says to trust your heart. It tells you to go wherever your heart leads you. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't right. According to the word of God, this is foolishness. We should not be trusting in our own hearts. See what Jeremiah says,

    9      “The heart is deceitful above all things,
    And desperately wicked;
    Who can know it?
-Jeremiah 17:9

Why then would we be putting our trust in our own hearts? Wisdom teaches us to trust instead in the Lord our God. Place the fullness of your faith in Him. This is the wisdom in which we walk that leads to deliverance. The vast majority of issues I have found myself in before the Lord is when I put trust in my flesh. But deliverance comes when I put my trust in the Lord. Be wise in your conduct and begin with trust in God.
