Proverbs 25:16
16Have you found honey?
Eat only as much as you need,
Lest you be filled with it and vomit.
-Proverbs 25:16
I find this to be a relatively appropriate verse after Thanksgiving. Have you ever experienced too much of a good thing? Those desserts sure were yummy, but did you need to eat that much? The lesson here is a simple one and it is modeled in much of the Christian life. The life of the believer is a temperate one. We should not live our lives in or for excess. While water may be a necessary ingredient for life, too much will cause you to drown. Just because it is good does not mean that you should over-fill your life or your time with it. May the Lord give you wisdom as you seek how this applies to your life now.
