Proverbs 24:17-18

17Do not rejoice when your enemy falls,
And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;
18Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him,
And He turn away His wrath from him.
-Proverbs 24:17-18

We would do well to consider the Lord's teaching on desiring mercy and not sacrifice. As we have been shown such a great compassion and care from the Lord, we should be those who have compassion for others. Even in our conduct with our enemies, we need to walk humbly before the Lord. We may very well invoke judgement upon ourselves in our rejoicing over other's turmoil. I find this to be a great lesson given the current political sphere of our world. It may seem that the enemies of the believer grow more and more numerous. Let us deeply consider how Jesus taught us to interact with our enemies. Be set apart unto the Lord and let Him guide your every step.
