Proverbs 24:1-2

          Do not be envious of evil men, Nor desire to be with them;
    2      For their heart devises violence,
    And their lips talk of troublemaking.

We live in a world that glorifies wickedness and celebrates evil. It seems to be the prerogative of wickedness to present itself as goodness, or just something to be sought after. Getting drunk is having a good time. A man who sleeps around is looked upon as a model for men. Lashing out in anger or getting vengeance is seen as a noble move. Media often lacks a good guy in their tales. You have bad and worse. We fight for the lesser of two evils. It is getting difficult to conceptualize a story where a good guy exists. As such, it has become easier and easier to envy evil men. It has become easier to blur the lines and want to make them company or even become like them. Let us learn to love righteousness and seek to be right in the eyes of God. Let us love goodness and strive to walk on the right path. If we find such evil pleasant to the eyes, let us acquaint ourselves with the Word of God that our minds might be made new. Look at the world around us through the lens of Scripture and learn to discern what is good and what is not.
