Proverbs 20:15
There is gold and a multitude of rubies,
But the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

Do we truly treasure knowledge and wisdom? In our world where information is always at our fingertips, I find that we have valued knowledge less and less. We do not need to know as much as we need Google to know. For any issue, we have a search engine at our disposal to help inform us. But that often does not give us adequate knowledge. We find ourselves feeling more informed than we actually are and have a form of knowledge while not actually knowing anything. When everyone has a voice that has been filtered by Google, how much more valuable are the lips of those who give true knowledge? Indeed they are a precious jewel. Knowledge concerning the truth and wisdom on how to live that out are critical for our spiritual walk. These are the treasures that last into eternity. You may enjoy the gold and rubies now, but those will fade. Let us invest in what matters. Let us invest in what will last.
