Proverbs 18:21

21Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit.
-Proverbs 18:21

Here we have one of the strongest verses to encourage us to be careful with our speech. This is the biblical version of, "The pen is mightier than the sword." Where social media has become a droning space of us inserting any thought we have, we have lost perspective on the impact of speech. As a direct consequence, many have stopped caring about how to conduct ourselves in what it is we say. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. We can both uplift and see things come to fruition, or otherwise let them meet their end. How we utilize this calls for great discernment. Pray to be wise in your speech. Consider what it is that you say. Consider to whom you speak. Let the Lord guide and direct you in this. We do not want to misuse something that the Lord examines so critically.
