Proverbs 16:2

2All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the spirits.
-Proverbs 16:2

It is a common philosophical analysis that highlights each side believing they are right. Is this not the foundation for arguments among people? Each person thinks that they are right and in the right for the way they feel. Man is pure in his own eyes. It is quite unfortunate then for man that the Lord does not look through the man's eyes, but at the spirit. Our spiritual condition is the most important thing to the Lord concerning us. As such, He has given us His word. Hebrews 4 highlights how the Word of God is a discerner between the thoughts and intents of the heart. We must be in the Word if we are to see as the Lord does concerning matters of our own lives. Let us not be pure in our own eyes only. Let us be pure before the Lord.
