Proverbs 15:31-33

31The ear that hears the rebukes of life
Will abide among the wise.
32He who disdains instruction despises his own soul,
But he who heeds rebuke gets understanding.
33The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom,
And before honor is humility.
-Proverbs 15:31-33

One of the key attributes of a believer is humility. Should we lack humility, just about every other virtue goes out the window. For the Lord resists the proud, but He give grace to the humble. If we are not humble, how shall we learn? If we think that we have all the answers, why would we ever receive instruction? We must have humility. When we do, we may receive instruction with a glad heart. We will hear those rebukes and be able to heed them. We will grow in understanding. We will walk in the fear of the Lord. Humility is the gateway to wisdom. I pray that we may all grow properly in humility and that the Lord would be able to mold and shape us as He desires.
