Proverbs 13:7
7 There is one who makes himself rich, yet has nothing;
And one who makes himself poor, yet has great riches.
-Proverbs 13:7
We see it all over the place. So many who have wealth are still miserable and are wicked. Though they have all the world can offer, they are left with nothing. Similarly, there are those who lack this world's goods but have everything. These are not exclusive. There can be those who have great wealth and have riches stored in heaven as well. Similarly, there are those who are destitute and poor in every regard. The importance here is where your treasure is stored up. What is valuable to you? If it is the things of this world, then you may be left poor. However, if it is the Lord you treasure, you are left rich. Examine yourself and see where you stand.
