Proverbs 12:1

Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,
But he who hates correction is stupid.
-Proverbs 12:1

We have arrived at one of my favorite bible verses of all times, and I am sure you cannot guess why. Certainly it has nothing to do with the bible calling someone stupid. It does give me a chuckle, but there is a part of me that holds that seriously. We all have our own litmus test for what classifies something as stupid. What is it that the bible would call such a thing? Hatred of correction. Pride prevents correction. If you are not willing to receive correction, how can you grow? It becomes fruitless. However, the one who heeds to it loves knowledge. There is an intentionality that we need to have in our world to not become so pride-filled. Let us walk in humility to the Lord and His word. Let us have the same heart toward our brethren in the faith. Be ready and willing to receive correction that you may grow and thrive.
