Proverbs 11:29
29He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind,
And the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
-Proverbs 11:29
We have a responsibility to our families to care for them. Check out what Paul has to say to Timothy in 1 Timothy 5:
8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
-1 Timothy 5:8
The one who fails to do this will inherit the wind indeed. They gain nothing and are found worse than an unbeliever. However, troubling ones own house has more to do than just not providing. Leading lives of sin or approving of such things can. Fathers failing to be fathers and mothers doing likewise, or children being disobedient to parents are all things that can trouble a household. The inheritance remains the same. Nothing. The fool will reap the fools reward. So pay close attention to the righteousness you should walk in. Be a treasure to your household.
