Proverbs 8:32-36

32      “Now therefore, listen to me, my children,
    For blessed are those who keep my ways.
    33      Hear instruction and be wise,
    And do not disdain it.
    34      Blessed is the man who listens to me,
    Watching daily at my gates,
    Waiting at the posts of my doors.
    35      For whoever finds me finds life,
    And obtains favor from the LORD;
    36      But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul;
    All those who hate me love death.”
-Proverbs 8:32-36

There have been many times that I have stated that we need to cling to wisdom and cling to the Lord. What does that really look like though? It looks like this passage above. We are to listen to wisdom, not forgo it for the sake of fun or entertainment. Listening does not just mean to hear, but to walk in those ways. Listen to the instruction of wisdom and do not disdain it. In other words, learn to delight in what is the wise thing to do. It is something that many will persecute as it will make you stay from the wicked paths that many enjoy treading. Watch daily for wisdom. For in finding it, you may find life and obtain favor from the Lord. If you do disdain wisdom and oppose it, you find yourself treading the grounds of sin. The wages that await sin is death. So tread near to wisdom and walk her path. Delight therein, and cling to wisdom's voice.
