Proverbs 2:10-15

10When wisdom enters your heart,
And knowledge is pleasant to your soul,
11Discretion will preserve you;
Understanding will keep you,
12To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things,
13From those who leave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ways of darkness;
14Who rejoice in doing evil,
And delight in the perversity of the wicked;
15Whose ways are crooked,
And who are devious in their paths;
-Proverbs 2:10-15

We have aptly discussed some of the dangers of the lack of wisdom. Understanding those, what purpose does wisdom serve for us? Well, when you are filled with wisdom and you find knowledge pleasant to your soul, you are preserved and kept by discretion and understanding. Matters that once caused you hinderance, no longer do. The decisions you would make that get you into troubling situations are no longer hinderances. You are delivered from the evil way. You are grounded in the path of uprightness and not hindered by those that wander into darkness. The peer pressure of those rejoicing in evil leave a distaste in our mouths.

Let wisdom fill your heart and let knowledge be pleasant to your soul. If you are not in that place, pray diligently and seek it. Refer back to Proverbs 2:1-5 as well. Learn to value wisdom and understanding. Gain the fear of the Lord.
