Psalm 143:7-12
7Answer me speedily, O Lord;
My spirit fails!
Do not hide Your face from me,
Lest I be like those who go down into the pit.
8Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,
For in You do I trust;
Cause me to know the way in which I should walk,
For I lift up my soul to You.
9Deliver me, O Lord, from my enemies;
In You I take shelter.
10Teach me to do Your will,
For You are my God;
Your Spirit is good.
Lead me in the land of uprightness.
11Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake!
For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12In Your mercy cut off my enemies,
And destroy all those who afflict my soul;
For I am Your servant.
-Psalm 143:7-12
Walking in the lovingkindness of the Lord and knowing the way in which we should walk all begins when we put our trust wholly in the Lord. As we seek the Lord for deliverance or for guidance, we must be honest with ourselves. Do we really trust the Lord? Do we really desire to know the will of the Lord? Do we really want to do the will of the Lord? Even if it is contrary to something that you really want to do, our trust being in the Lord looks like performing His will. We cannot just say that we trust Him and then not trust what He instructs. If we are fully trusting in Him, we are trusting that what He says goes. There is not room for debate within the commands of the Lord. You either trust Him and what He says, or you do not. Examine yourself and see where you stand. Will you trust in Him even when it is hard?
