Psalm 135:13-21

13Your name, O Lord, endures forever,
Your fame, O Lord, throughout all generations.
14For the Lord will judge His people,
And He will have compassion on His servants.
15The idols of the nations are silver and gold,
The work of men’s hands.
16They have mouths, but they do not speak;
Eyes they have, but they do not see;
17They have ears, but they do not hear;
Nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18Those who make them are like them;
So is everyone who trusts in them.
19Bless the Lord, O house of Israel!
Bless the Lord, O house of Aaron!
20Bless the Lord, O house of Levi!
You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord!
21Blessed be the Lord out of Zion,
Who dwells in Jerusalem!
Praise the Lord!
-Psalm 135:13-21

You have that which is eternal versus that which is temporary. You have that of the Lord, or that of man. We look back and see how foolish it was to live for the creation of man. Yet many of us are not far from doing the very same thing. While I am most certain that none of us are physically bowing down to our phones and media and the like. I do believe that many of us are captivated by our modern technologies, media, and entertainment where those things are no longer serving us, but we are serving them. Set your mind on things above not on things on earth. Do not put your trust in these man-made things to solve all of your problems. Put your trust wholly in the Lord.
