Psalm 135:9-12
9He sent signs and wonders into the midst of you, O Egypt,
Upon Pharaoh and all his servants.
10He defeated many nations
And slew mighty kings—
11Sihon king of the Amorites,
Og king of Bashan,
And all the kingdoms of Canaan—
12And gave their land as a heritage,
A heritage to Israel His people.
-Psalm 135:9-12
See how magnificently the Lord conquers the enemies of His people. It is interesting as you study through the conquest of the Promised Land how the Lord approached it to His people. He told them that He has delivered their enemies into their hands. Now they had to go out and take the land. So who conquered it? Well the Lord did. Because the Lord did, the people could and then did. We live in a similar situation. As we talk about the death of the flesh, we have a battle waging war within us between flesh and spirit. Many come to the Lord begging that the enemy be defeated. The Lord has sufficiently delivered it into your hands. Now you must conquer. I believe the issue we run into is the same one that Israel ran into. We let some things that we think are innocent remain. And that which remains, after a period of time, rises up and begins waging at war with you again. The Lord is sufficient to deliver. Walk in that deliverance and sufficiently walk as more than conquerors. If you took the additional reading in Romans 8 yesterday, you should have read Romans 8:37 that says you are more than conquerors in Christ. So walk in the sufficiency of His grace this morning. Once again read through Romans 8 today. Praise God!
