Psalm 129

1“Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth,”
Let Israel now say—
2“Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth;
Yet they have not prevailed against me.
3The plowers plowed on my back;
They made their furrows long.”
4The Lord is righteous;
He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked.
5Let all those who hate Zion
Be put to shame and turned back.
6Let them be as the grass on the housetops,
Which withers before it grows up,
7With which the reaper does not fill his hand,
Nor he who binds sheaves, his arms.
8Neither let those who pass by them say,
“The blessing of the Lord be upon you;
We bless you in the name of the Lord!”

Israel is an incredible testament of the faithfulness of the Lord. For no country has undergone the world-wide hatred that they have for as long as they have and kept standing. The Lord maintains His people. Perhaps you woke up discouraged this morning. It may feel like life has just not let up on the gas and you are getting bombarded from every angle. Take heart and keep moving forward. As long as you still have your hope and faith in the Lord the enemy cannot prevail against you. Blessed be the name of the Lord! Hold fast to His name and may His Spirit give you encouragement and endurance today. Amen!
