Psalm 110
1The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”
2The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion.
Rule in the midst of Your enemies!
3Your people shall be volunteers
In the day of Your power;
In the beauties of holiness, from the womb of the morning,
You have the dew of Your youth.
4The Lord has sworn
And will not relent,
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”
5The Lord is at Your right hand;
He shall execute kings in the day of His wrath.
6He shall judge among the nations,
He shall fill the places with dead bodies,
He shall execute the heads of many countries.
7He shall drink of the brook by the wayside;
Therefore He shall lift up the head.
-Psalm 110
If you have spent any time int he book of Hebrews, much of this Psalm should stand out to you. This is the announcement of the Messiah's reign. This should be a focus for us all. Every one of the New Testament writers had their eyes set on a major fact. Jesus is coming back. We need to be ready. Live for what is to come, not for what is for here. Lose what you cannot keep to gain what you cannot lose. This is a sign of maturity in your faith. We do not want to squander the time we have now when this is all the time we will have to partake in the sufferings of Christ. Set your eyes upon His return and live for that Day.
