Psalm 96:7-9

7Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Give to the Lord glory and strength.
8Give to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come into His courts.
9Oh, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
-Psalm 96:7-9

Giving to the Lord can be taken in several different ways. Is it that we are to bring financial offerings and give to the church? Is it that we have to help build more church buildings and dedicate our strength to it? While this may entail some of what it looks like, I find that giving to the Lord has a lot less to do with the church itself and more of that relationship between you and the Lord. We are told in Romans 12 that we offer ourselves as a living sacrifice. Our lives are given to Him self-sacrificially.

As we are bringing praise to the Lord, we should be ready to submit to Him. In fact, the book of Hebrews says that praise itself is a freewill offering of our mouths. Taking time out of our days and dedicating it to the Lord is a way that we can offer ourselves to Him. Outside of those dedicated times, living to the glory of God is how we continue in offering ourselves. Live a life of offering. Celebrate the Lord in your very lifestyle.
