Psalm 95:7a-11

Today, if you will hear His voice:
8“Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion,
As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
9When your fathers tested Me;
They tried Me, though they saw My work.
10For forty years I was grieved with that generation,
And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,
And they do not know My ways.’
11So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”
-Psalm 95:7a-11

If you recall, this passage is quoted in the book of Hebrews. That being said we must labor to enter the Lord's rest. This is not meaning we walk in works to enter it. But the very fact of entering the Lord's rest means we are ceasing from our own works. This is a very difficult and laborious thing to do. We desire to prove ourselves and strive to do our own thing. We try to serve God in our own special way rather than how He has orchestrated. However, if we do not, we likewise may enter a wilderness of our own.

Strive to enter the Lord's rest! If you do not know what, or who this is, it is Jesus. Be near to Him and understand the sufficiency of His work. Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. Be wary if you do not enter His rest. Labor to enter it.
