Psalm 87

1His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2The Lord loves the gates of Zion
More than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3Glorious things are spoken of you,
O city of God!
Selah
4“I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to those who know Me;
Behold, O Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia:
‘This one was born there.’ ”
5And of Zion it will be said,
“This one and that one were born in her;
And the Most High Himself shall establish her.”
6The Lord will record,
When He registers the peoples:
“This one was born there.”
Selah
7Both the singers and the players on instruments say,
“All my springs are in you.”
-Psalm 87

As we are readying ourselves for Resurrection Sunday, I find that this psalm is actually quite appropriate. If you recall, a while back I had shared that Zion is often testified of in regard to salvation. It is the city of salvation. It is the place in which we will all be united to the Lord. See then how the Lord looks upon such a testimony.

The salvation that the Lord offers is not a begrudging salvation. He is not weary in offering it, nor disdainful. Rather, through it, He has begotten a bride for His Son. The Lord establishes us from this place. Having our names written in the Lamb's book of Life, we are registered to the city of salvation. We belong with the Lord as His very own people. Praise be to the Lord for the work that He has done that would accomplish this in our lives! Rejoice in Him and remember the magnificent work of Jesus.
