Psalm 85:8-13

8I will hear what God the Lord will speak,
For He will speak peace
To His people and to His saints;
But let them not turn back to folly.
9Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land.
10Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
11Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12Yes, the Lord will give what is good;
And our land will yield its increase.
13Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.
-Psalm 85:8-13

Do you listen for what God would speak to you? I frequently examine my life in light of Scripture that I would know to listen to the Lord's instruction. The word of God is like a mirror where we can see our reflection and clean up or fix that which is in disarray. When we ready ourselves in the morning, we do not attempt to adjust or fix the mirror based on what we see in it. Rather we fix that which the mirror reflects. However, so many attempt to fix the word of God that they can fit their lives into it rather than walking in obedience to the word so that they be made whole.

So many ask to hear from the Lord while still neglecting the word He has already given. Why should that person expect to hear from the Lord if they are not faithful with what He has already given them? Hear Him! Listen to Him! For He will speak. In His salvation mercy and truth come together and testify of righteousness and peace. These we hear from Him have we only ears to hear and eyes to see. Walk in obedience to the Lord and listen to what He is telling you.
