Psalm 84:9-12

9O God, behold our shield,
And look upon the face of Your anointed.
10For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
The Lord will give grace and glory;
No good thing will He withhold
From those who walk uprightly.
12O Lord of hosts,
Blessed is the man who trusts in You!

I remember as a kid hearing the song "Better is One Day" which is based out of this passage of Scripture. In my young brain all I could think was, "Wow. These guys must have never been to Disneyland." Evidently, I had a very poor understanding of the goodness of the presence of God. Even moreso, I failed to understand the wickedness that this world holds. In contrast, there is no doubt that it is better to dwell with the Lord one day than to spend a thousand elsewhere.

The man who puts their trust in God is truly blessed indeed! Praise the Lord! Seek to be in His presence. By the work of Jesus and the giving of the Holy Spirit, we can experience the goodness of His presence even now. Live righteously and look expectantly for the coming of our Lord. Long to dwell with Him and, as much as you can now, abide with HIm.
