Psalm 84:5-8

5Blessed is the man whose strength is in You,
Whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
6As they pass through the Valley of Baca,
They make it a spring;
The rain also covers it with pools.
7They go from strength to strength;
Each one appears before God in Zion.
8O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
Give ear, O God of Jacob!
-Psalm 84:5-8

What does someone who has a heart set on pilgrimage look like? What do they do? It looks a lot different than someone who has settled. The one whose heart is set on pilgrimage is simply through until they get to their final destination. As such, they do not tie themselves to that which they are passing through. We, in similar regard, should consider the fact that we are just passing through here on earth.

Imagine setting out on a pilgrimage with everything you own and constantly adding more as you travel along. It would cause a lot of trouble along the way. So the same as we build up for ourselves treasures here on earth. When our mind is set on things above, our hearts are set on pilgrimage. We are living for something else. However, when our minds are here on earth, we settle and make our abode in the depths. Therefore, set your mind on things above and live unto the Lord with all your heart. Seek to dwell with the Lord.
