Psalm 77:1-3

1I cried out to God with my voice—To God with my voice;
And He gave ear to me.
2In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord;
My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing;
My soul refused to be comforted.
3I remembered God, and was troubled;
I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed.

-Psalm 77:1-3

If you do not have a place where you can pray to the Lord in complete solitude I strongly advise you find one. One of the greatest benefits is praying out loud to the Lord with no reason to hold back. Use your actual voice in your prayers. God will absolutely hear your prayers if you pray silently to yourself, but something changes when we use our voice. It is so much easier to remain focused in prayer times. You are putting action behind faith. Your words become more intentional.

Many of us find ourselves in these days of trouble where we need to seek the Lord. Find a place to get away and cry out to Him with your real voice. If you are not in that time of trouble, build the practice of crying out to the Lord even now. Give praise to God with your actual voice. Do not allow all of your relationship with God to be a thought-life activity. Put action behind it. Put words into it. Seek the Lord with your whole heart.
