Psalm 76:10-12
10Surely the wrath of man shall praise You;
With the remainder of wrath You shall gird Yourself.
11Make vows to the Lord your God, and pay them;
Let all who are around Him bring presents to Him who ought to be feared.
12He shall cut off the spirit of princes;
He is awesome to the kings of the earth.
-Psalm 76:10-12
We should take very seriously that which we have given to the Lord. Jesus gives warning against taking vows and instead encourages integrity. Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Yet still, what we have committed to the Lord should not be taken lightly. We have given our lives in submission. Do we then try to constantly take control? If we are insisting upon taking control of our own lives then to what extent have we given it to the Lord?
Let your yes be yes and no be no indeed! Read through Scripture and see how seriously God takes those things which are given to Him. See how He holds it when it is His and how He gives it up when they try to take it back. God is a gentleman and will not force your hand. I encourage you to entrust it all to the Lord. With Him is life and peace. He will cherish you and care for you to utter perfection.
