Psalm 70

1Make haste, O God, to deliver me!
Make haste to help me, O Lord!
2Let them be ashamed and confounded
Who seek my life;
Let them be turned back and confused
Who desire my hurt.
3Let them be turned back because of their shame,
Who say, “Aha, aha!”
4Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You;
And let those who love Your salvation say continually,
“Let God be magnified!”
5But I am poor and needy;
Make haste to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay.
-Psalm 70

The Lord is not slow or slack in His promises. He is quick to deliver and brings salvation hastily. As those who have tasted the salvation of the Lord, we should come together and rejoice in that very salvation. As it is stated in verse 4, those who love salvation continually magnify the Lord. Allow me to pose a question to you in this. Do you love the salvation you've received from the Lord? Perhaps another question we should ask is, "Do you continually magnify God?" The answer to these questions are tied together. It is a very difficult case to say we truly and deeply love the salvation of the Lord and do not magnify Him.

The case that is being made is very similar to the case that is in James. The evidence of our faith is found in our works. Likewise, the evidence of our love for the Lord's salvation is found in how we magnify Him. Examine yourself and look at the evidence of your life. If you love this salvation and magnify the Lord as such, praise God! Continue steadfastly in that and endure to the end! However, if you find that you do not do as such, now is the time for repentance for the deliverance of the Lord is not slow. In this very moment you can love His salvation and magnify Him as you rejoice in it! Blessed be the name of the Lord!
