Psalm 69:13-15

    13      But as for me, my prayer is to You,
    O LORD, in the acceptable time;
    O God, in the multitude of Your mercy,
    Hear me in the truth of Your salvation.
    14      Deliver me out of the mire,
    And let me not sink;
    Let me be delivered from those who hate me,
    And out of the deep waters.
    15      Let not the floodwater overflow me,
    Nor let the deep swallow me up;
    And let not the pit shut its mouth on me.
-Psalm 69:13-15

We once again see how the Lord is our deliverer. Yet we also see how we have this deliverer. As believers, we do have a responsibility to call out to the Lord. As nice and convenient as it may seem to just have God fix all of our problems for us without ever having contact with Him, it greatly defeats the purpose of prayer. I tend to be a fix-it guy when problems arise in my life. I am very quick to call upon Google or YouTube for solutions. How slow I can sometimes be to calling upon the Lord.

This takes a great measure of humility, but we must be reliant upon the Lord in every circumstance we find ourselves in. This does not mean that we forgo the wisdom of finding solutions, but we ought to be driven to prayer. We ought to learn to listen to the Lord. In Him is the very wellspring of Wisdom. In Him is knowledge beyond comparison. Seek the face of the Lord through every circumstance.
