Psalm 65:1

1Praise is awaiting You, O God, in Zion;
And to You the vow shall be performed.
-Psalm 65:1

Praise does something amazing in keeping our perspective where it ought to be. Few things bring me as much joy as hearing the praises of the saints lifted toward God. As we read through Scripture, Zion is frequently associated with a place of salvation. In such a place of salvation, why would those who are saved not being awaiting their savior with praise? So we await our Savior with praise!

Here is something I had struggled with: enjoying God and exciting for Him. It is easy to succumb to a busy lifestyle or even just becoming over-associated with God in a way where we lose reverence. Verses such as this remind me of the attitude I should have toward God. We should be excited about our Savior! We should be ready to welcome Him with praise! I have found within myself that the reasons I do not excite is because I have forgotten what I was saved from or that I have forgotten what I have been saved towards. We were not just pulled away from the fire. We were brought near to God. Praise His name and rejoice!
