Psalm 64:5-10
5They encourage themselves in an evil matter;
They talk of laying snares secretly;
They say, “Who will see them?”
6They devise iniquities:
“We have perfected a shrewd scheme.”
Both the inward thought and the heart of man are deep.
7But God shall shoot at them with an arrow;
Suddenly they shall be wounded.
8So He will make them stumble over their own tongue;
All who see them shall flee away.
9All men shall fear,
And shall declare the work of God;
For they shall wisely consider His doing.
10The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him.
And all the upright in heart shall glory.
-Psalm 64:5-10
There is a reality that wickedness encourages itself. This goes along with the, "bad company corrupts good morals." It pollutes and becomes more filthy within itself and seeks to spread such pollution. It is deep within them that this wickedness goes. As it continues to encourage itself in it, it will continue to walk in it. Yet, judgment is coming.
In a similar nature, righteousness also spreads. This spreading is that of a cleansing however. The more that we are encouraged in righteousness and are surrounded in it, the more that becomes our lives. I often encourage watchfulness and wariness for what we consume in our lives. The music we listen to, the shows we watch, the books we read all influence us. The truth is that most of our time is spent investing in the flesh. Be certain that you are investing in the Lord your God and you are allowing Him to invest in you.
