Psalm 63:9-11

9But those who seek my life, to destroy it,
Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
10They shall fall by the sword;
They shall be a portion for jackals.
11But the king shall rejoice in God;
Everyone who swears by Him shall glory;
But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.
-Psalm 63:9-11

Glory and rejoice! If you are in the Lord you have every reason to glory and rejoice. Being in the Lord and serving Him does not bring you to a place of being solemn and bored. Whether it be by bad church experiences or media, many have come to believe that the "holier" one is the more solemn they become. This has led to a massive decrease in the pursuit of holiness.

Biblically speaking, such a pursuit after the Lord leads to a joy that can only be found in Him. There is a genuine excitement in being in the presence of God. It is those who walk opposed to the Lord that mourn and will become solemn. However, in Christ we have abundant cause to rejoice.
