Psalm 63:1

1O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
-Psalm 63:1

Take this verse and commit it to memory. When you wake up, let this be at the forefront of your mind. When you lie down to sleep, let this be the meditation of your heart. We do live in a time where it is dry. The Spirit is lacking and the word is lacking. Not that they themselves are lacking, but that few are in such pursuit for them. Being those who are set apart, we prioritize this time that we get to invest in the Lord and have the Lord invest in us.

Make it a priority, even if it is just for a few minutes to meet with the Lord in the mornings. It could be turning on an audio bible or worship as you are getting ready. Perhaps you are like me and choose to listen to a sermon or worship on the commute to work. In any case, beginning the day investing in the Lord sets the tone for how you will continue throughout your day and week. This discipline can carry you far.
