Psalm 52:6-9

6The righteous also shall see and fear,
And shall laugh at him, saying,
7“Here is the man who did not make God his strength,
But trusted in the abundance of his riches,
And strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
8But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God;
I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.
9I will praise You forever,
Because You have done it;
And in the presence of Your saints
I will wait on Your name, for it is good.
-Psalm 52:6-9

Yesterday we looked at the dichotomy between righteousness and wickedness as well as the judgement that yet befalls the wicked. Today we continue on that note as the righteous sees that judgement. This is why we ought to keep such things at the forefront of our minds because we see and fear. We don't want for such judgement to come upon us. As it does the fear of the Lord protects us and keeps us from straying into wickedness. We make the Lord our strength instead of trusting in our own strengths as the wicked does. In so doing we are a fruitful people.

Turn to the Lord and be strengthened in His might! Trust in His mercy continually and give Him praise evermore! Set your mind upon Him and in His wondrous works. Delight yourself in the Lord your God and you will do well. Wait on His name, for it is good.
