Psalm 50:7-14

    7      “Hear, O My people, and I will speak,
    O Israel, and I will testify against you;
    I am God, your God!
    8      I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices
    Or your burnt offerings,
    Which are continually before Me.
    9      I will not take a bull from your house,
    Nor goats out of your folds.
    10      For every beast of the forest is Mine,
    And the cattle on a thousand hills.
    11      I know all the birds of the mountains,
    And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.

    12      “If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
    For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.
    13      Will I eat the flesh of bulls,
    Or drink the blood of goats?
    14      Offer to God thanksgiving,
    And pay your vows to the Most High.
-Psalm 50:7-14

What can you offer to God? Nothing. There is nothing that God is in need of or lacking that we would be able to supply. This is both a humbling and very joy-filling reality. This means that God does not need me. He wants me. Likewise the same is true for you. However, in the way that we labor, we must be careful that we are not trying to work or earn merit before the Lord in our own strength.

There are quite a few places in Scripture where God does not delight in sacrifices given to Him by His people for it was not preceded with obedience. The same is true for those in Christ who sought to be perfected in their own works rather than by the Spirit. So then what can we offer to the Lord? Offer the freewill offering of thanksgiving. Carry yourself with a thankful heart unto the Lord and walk in obedience to Him. In this the Lord delights.
