Psalm 49:14-15

14      Like sheep they are laid in the grave;
    Death shall feed on them;
    The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning;
    And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling.
    15      But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave,
    For He shall receive me.
-Psalm 49:14-15

As it was discussed yesterday, money cannot save you. The richest of the rich have met the same fate that all mankind has. Your money does not go with you to the grave. It does not transcend eternity. Neither does any of your material things. There is One, however, that does transcend. That One is none other than the Lord.

The aim here is not to say it is bad to have money or things. The aim is for us to genuinely question where our focus lies. Jesus cannot simply be number 1 on your list of things to prioritize. He must be the very ink and paper that makes up the list. Him being over all means that He must be in all you do. Seek to be received by the Lord and your labor will not be in vain.
