Psalm 40:9-10

9I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness
In the great assembly;
Indeed, I do not restrain my lips,
O Lord, You Yourself know.
10I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart;
I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation;
I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth
From the great assembly.

The praise we have for the Lord should be shared among one another as believers. Something that always surprised me through growing up and even more so in my years of ministry is how seldom praise is given to God among fellow believers. In fact, Jesus and His work is almost just as seldom mentioned. Whether it be that some are not well articulate in this type of conversation, have not really engaged in it before, or just have not such concern for the things of the Lord I am dismayed at the idea that we so frequently fail to encourage one another in the faith.

We should be eager and ready to share the good news of the Lord. I am not even talking about spreading the gospel, though we should still do this. I am talking about among believers. Do not hide the victory that the Lord brings in your life within your heart. Do not conceal the love and the truth of the Lord. Spur one another on in the faith. The more you become comfortable with talking about the work of the Lord in your life the better you will be in sharing His goodness with nonbelievers as well. Let the fruit of the Lord's work be known.
