Psalm 40:1-3
1I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.
-Psalm 40:1-3
Is this not the testimony we all share in the Lord? What a cause of rejoicing! How great is our God who hears us in our cries? How worthy of praise is the Lord who brings us out of the pit and sets us on the Rock? We should be continually rejoicing over the salvation we have received from the Lord.
As one who grew up in the church one of the things I had struggled with was not having a drastic dark to light testimony. Having parents who were both believers allowed me to grow up in an environment where Jesus was the focus. At an early age I came to an understanding and saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. I was preserved from experiencing all kinds of wickedness. Through the wisdom of God I can still yet see the salvation that was brought to me.
Whether your testimony may be similar to mine or you have a drastic dark to light testimony, we can all testify of the same fact here. The Lord brought us from a path of destruction and wickedness and established our steps in Him. He put a song of rejoicing in us where cries were before. This testimony that you carry is a great tool for the Kingdom of God. For from this praise to the Lord many may come before the Lord in fear and trust. Give praise to God for the salvation you have in Him!
And heard my cry.
