Psalm 39:7-11

7“And now, Lord, what do I wait for?
My hope is in You.
8Deliver me from all my transgressions;
Do not make me the reproach of the foolish.
9I was mute, I did not open my mouth,
Because it was You who did it.
10Remove Your plague from me;
I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.
11When with rebukes You correct man for iniquity,
You make his beauty melt away like a moth;
Surely every man is vapor.
-Psalm 39:7-11

While the wicked set their hearts on riches of this world and have their hope in their gain, what is our hope to be in? Our hope must be in the Lord. We wait upon the Lord for He is our salvation. Our works, our earthly gain, our lives' length all pay nothing to salvation. The Lord is the only hope that we have. As such, wait upon Him.

See then the might and power of the Lord. Who can stand before Him? In the correction that comes from the Lord He melts away the beauty of man. The pride and vigor he stood with crumbles and he is like vapor. As each of us have endured conviction from the Lord we understand how quickly it can render us without strength. Yet in that recognition of weakness we have found strength in Him. The strength that the Lord offers is not far from the weakness we admit we have. Keep your hope in the Lord. Be strengthened in His presence.
