Psalm 37:16-17

16A little that a righteous man has
Is better than the riches of many wicked.
17For the arms of the wicked shall be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous.
-Psalm 37:16-17

The Kingdom of God has often been described as an upside down kingdom. The things that the Lord values seems to be opposite of what the world values. The first is last and last is first. The greatest among you is the servant to all. It is a contrary kingdom to the way that the world sets theirs up.

What little a righteous man has is valued higher than the riches of the wicked. Why would that be so? The righteous man invests in righteousness and therefore reaps a righteous reward. However, those who invest in wickedness will reap the consequences of wickedness. One is upheld and the other is broken.

Let us have the right perspective on what we choose to invest our lives in. Sowing in righteousness is what we are called to walk in. Do not fall for the trap of sowing in wickedness to reap a temporary benefit, for the wicked will be cut down.
