Psalm 36:10-12

    10      Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,
    And Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
    11      Let not the foot of pride come against me,
    And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
    12      There the workers of iniquity have fallen;
    They have been cast down and are not able to rise.
-Psalm 36:10-12

Those who truly know the Lord are those who are upright in heart. Right thinking leads to right living. The deeper we are concerned with what concerns the Lord the deeper we will know the Lord. The deeper we know the Lord the more we want to please Him. The more we want to please Him the deeper we are concerned with what concerns Him, and so the cycle repeats. The lovingkindenss and mercy continue to those who know the Lord and as does His righteousness.

The path of pride leads to the action of wickedness. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Should we enter into pride we are driven away by wickedness. However, as we humble ourselves before the Lord we draw near to Him. Sin separates but righteousness brings us near to the Lord. Those within iniquity fall and are cast down, but those who seek the shelter of the Lord rise up. Seek to know the Lord and grow in His love. Humble yourself before the Lord and continue to draw near to Him.
